Blind Sailing – Episode 46 of The Blind Sport Podcast

You don’t need sight to sail a yacht. Feel the breeze, listen to what the boat is doing and ride the waves. What could be better?

In episode 46 we take a sail out on Auckland Harbour with the New Zealand B1 sailing team as they get some last minute training in before they head off to compete in the World Blind Sailing Fleet Championships in Chicago USA.

We talk to Disabled Sailing Coordinator, Helena Horswell from Yachting New Zealand about the various options available for vision impaired, blind and disabled sailors.

After that we chat with former B2 world champion Paulien Eitjes from Tauranga New Zealand about her experiences as a vision impaired sailor.
